Our History

2011

Foundation

TASHIMEKU was founded by a group of social workers and community activists in Dar es Salaam to address growing concerns about gender-based violence in local communities.

2012

First Major Program

Launched our flagship "Safe Communities Initiative" in three district, providing counseling services and legal aid to survivors of domestic violence.

2015

Regional Recognition

Expanded our operations to whole Dodoma regions across Tanzania and operate helping children through out the region

2022

National Expansion

Received national recognition from the Tanzanian government for our work in child protection and awarded a partnership with the Ministry of Health.
